ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING BOARD UPDATE

The Co-op held our AGM on Monday 25th November and we are delighted to welcome John Bilsbury and Dave Wetters onto the Co-op board.

John Bilsbury (JKB) is a former engineer, who has been following County since December 1966. He is a popular County blogger and writes My County Diary by JKB9B, which appears on The Scarf Bergara Wore website.

JKB stood for the Co-op board as he believes the group forms a vital channel of communication between the fans, the community and the Club. The success of the Danny Bergara statue fundraising, support for the Wellspring homeless charity and resource centre and the Hatters Half marathon are examples John believes are testament to the power of good the Co-op can be, especially in conjunction with the Club.

Dave Wetters is a retired plastics process development engineer, who is a “High Peak Hatter” living in Birch Vale. Dave started watching County in the mid 60’s under the era of Johnny Price and Len Allchurch, playing Friday night football.

It is Dave’s belief that we must be inclusive as a Club, making everyone welcome at Edgeley Park and ensure they are treated as friends, especially away supporters and young supporters. The Supporters Co-op provides an ideal communications path between the supporters and the Club, therefore the organisation needs to be highly visible and willing to maintain a good working relationship between the two.

The new board now comprises of Dave Marchbank, John Giles, Paul Thompson, Terry Arnold, John Bilsbury and Dave Wetters. Cath Shanley is our Independent Secretary.

Ian Brown steps down from the Co-op board, having provided 9 years of dedicated service and hard work. Ian undertook many roles on the board, including communications and membership.

We look forward to the meeting of the new board to elect members to their new positions, so we can serve Co-op members and the wider Stockport County supporter base.
